Spring Neutrals

Ahh! I can't believe spring's just around the corner. I've been sifting through the March issues of my favorite glossies for wardrobe inspiration.  As expected, bright colors and bold prints are big for spring, but that doesn't mean you should eliminate neutrals from your wardrobe.
{LOFT Spring 2011}
I've been drawn to earth tones like olive green and tan just as much as the array of corals and blues I've seen in the stores and mags.  Muted tones can balance out brighter colors. They can also be worn together.  The key is to wear neutrals from different color palettes (see above).
Neutrals make up a large portion of my spring wardrobe.  Here are some of my favorites (above).  Aside from the jeweled flats and nail polish, all these items are recent purchases.

From Top Left: Nine West Avaghs ($50), Delia's Earth Polish ($4.50), Talbots Ribbon Corsage Scoopneck Tee ($14.50), LOFT Ribbon Necklace ($20), Calvin Klein Pleated Crops ($15), Talbots Laceless Sneakers ($24.50).

{J. Crew Staff in Café Capri}
At the top of my spring shopping list is a nice pair of khakis.  Here's a little styling inspiration from the people over at J. Crew (above).  I'm loving how versatile their Café Capri is.  It's a great investment piece because It can be worn so many different ways.

Will you be wearing neutrals this spring?

  2. I'm obsessed with a new cropped oatmeal-colored sweater I just got from H&M for spring. Also, I'm loving grays and creams, and I'm still a bit camel obsessed from fall.

  3. We're heading into winter in Australia and the neutral tones are big for now too. I love some of the mushrooms and khakis that are out there.(heading over from links a la mode)
